What is Cryo T Shock?

Noninvasive and painless, the Cryo T-Shock System by Pagani is a fat-reducing, cellulite-busting, face-lifting, antiaging tool with proven results and no downtime. It utilizes a high-quality 150-watt Peltier cell capable of generating and subtracting heat transdermally and is currently the only device on the market that can administer such rapid exchanges from hot to cold within the same applicator head. Its programming functions with 58 beauty protocols organized by need and anatomy make it a wonderful and versatile product for all clients.

Where Does the TShock Come From?

The Cryo T-Shock device was constructed in accordance with strict European Union manufacturing standards and won an award for Most Innovative Device at the 2014 Gicare International Expo in Paris. This award-winning device was created by an Italian manufacturer that has been serving the spa industry for over 50 years. The “T” stands for Thermal, which uses alternating hot and cold temperatures to permanently remove fat, reduce the appearance of cellulite, and rejuvenate the skin. The combined effect literally “shocks” the cells which have a far more profound effect on the results vs. using only warm or cold.

Is Cryo T Shock Safe?

The Cryo T-Shock is a safe and non-invasive treatment to reduce body fat without damage to other tissues, using a proprietary combination of warm and cold temperatures applied directly to the skin. Developed by Pagani and sold over the past five years, hundreds of units have been distributed throughout Europe. The device is managed by a computerized Windows system managed by an electronic temperature sensor in the head of the device, accurately controlling the temperature in real-time.

How Do Cryo Slimming (fat removal) Treatments Work?

The Cryo Slimming treatments alternate between hot and cold temperatures to remove undesired fat. The purpose of the treatment is to lower the temperature of the fat cells enough to cause what is known as the phenomenon of apoptosis which is triggered when the temperature of the fat tissue is between 12 and 17 C and subsequently causes these cells to break down. The cells are then naturally passed through the body’s lymphatic system and excreted through sweat and urine.

How Do Cryo Slimming (cellulite reduction) Treatments Work?

The Cryo Slimming treatment is a non-invasive procedure that impacts the causes of cellulite including protrusion of fat into the lower dermis. Using mechanical energy and micro-massage, thermal shock eliminates excess liquids through lymphatic drainage resulting in a smoother skin surface.

How Does It Feel?

The 30 – 60 minute treatments are executed manually through slow movements over the selected area of the body. Each session will begin with clean skin followed by a light gel application. The treatment starts with heat or cold, alternating between the two at varying times and temperatures. It is a non-invasive and painless treatment that feels like a light massage.

Where and How Often Can I Receive Cryo Slimming Treatments?

Cryo Slimming treatments are effective for targeting subcutaneous fat in various areas of concern including the arms, back, abdominals, hips (“love handles”), glutes, inner and outer thighs, and calves. As a result, multiple sessions can provide the desired result without damaging the beneficial cells in the treated area. It is recommended that clients undergoing Cryo Slimming treatments wait at least two weeks between sessions, so the lymphatic system and kidneys are not overloaded.

How Many Sessions Will I Need?

On average, it takes 5-10 sessions to remove localized fat, and 8-10 sessions to reduce cellulite. For a more accurate estimate of how many sessions will be needed to achieve your desired results, we recommend booking a complimentary consultation with one of our experienced technicians to assess the type and density of fat or cellulite in the area of concern and determine the number of sessions necessary for the desired outcome.

What are the Contraindications to Cryo Slimming Treatments?

Cryo Slimming treatments are not suitable for individuals with kidney disease, active cancer or chemotherapy within the last 12 months, pregnancy, dialysis, severe diabetes where sensation has been lost in the extremities or tingling occurs in the skin, polyneuropathy, or untreated abdominal hernias. Furthermore, the procedure should not be conducted over varicose veins.

How Can I Maximize My Results?

After every Cryo Slimming treatment, performing lymphatic drainage is essential to effectively dispose of deadened fat cells.  Below are some suggestive ways to promote proper lymphatic drainage.

  • Exercise. The Cryo TShock procedure has the potential to naturally boost your metabolism; however, to best experience the desired benefits, incorporating a 20-30 minute period of exercise within 4-6 hours after the treatment is advised.
  • Dry Brushing. This practice can be incorporated into your routine during treatment to help increase blood flow to the area and eliminate toxins and dead cells.
  • Red light therapy or dry heat saunas. These methods increase metabolic rate and flush out excess water weight.
  • Lymphatic Drainage Add-On. This 25-minute session alternates warm and cold temperatures in the treated area after a fat removal or cellulite reduction treatment to promote lymphatic drainage.  Note:  Anyone who has chronic edema or had surgery with lymph node removal may have problems diffusing fluid in arms, legs, or abdomen and should only be treated by a qualified specialist in lymphatic drainage.
  • Increase Water Intake. You should drink plenty of water (32 oz) both before and after the treatment to help your lymphatic system flush out the dead fat cells.
  • Clean Diet. On the day of your Cryo Slimming treatment, try to avoid consuming high-carbohydrate meals, processed foods, sugar, and alcohol to enhance the effectiveness of your lymphatic system in processing the deadened fat cells.

Adopting a balanced, healthy diet and regular exercise in addition to our treatments can help maximize the results of Cryo-Contour. We measure progress in inches lost rather than pounds. For those with a BMI of over 25, maintaining a healthy, active lifestyle is especially important to avoid weight gain; if more calories are taken in than burned, weight gain can occur. Incorporating healthy habits into your wellness journey can help ensure that you reach your goals.

How Do the Cryo Beauty Treatments Work?

Thermal Shock improves the general condition of the skin by increasing oxygen and nutrient supply. Frequent thermal shock treatments tighten the skin and reduce wrinkles. During these treatments, vessels and capillaries undergo a period of vasoconstriction (constriction of blood vessels) followed by vasodilation (dilation of blood vessels).  The intense cold improves collagen production, leaving the skin firm and tight, whereas the heat reinvigorates elastins.   By alternating cold and warm temperatures on the face, neck, or body, Cryo Tightening and Cryo Beauty treatments stimulate collagen production in the deepest layers of the skin. Multiple sessions (5-6) can result in a smoother, more even-toned complexion with regained elasticity for an improved overall “youthful” feeling and are recommended to be performed every 2-3 days for longer-lasting results.

What are the Contraindications to Cryo Beauty Treatments?

Clients are advised to leave at least two weeks between their last Botox treatment and at least four weeks between their last filler treatment before undergoing a Cryo Beauty treatment.

How Do Cryo Tightening Treatments Work?

Thermal Shock therapy is an effective treatment to improve skin elasticity and reduce the appearance of loose, crepey skin. This therapy relies on using alternating hot and cold temperatures to stimulate microcirculation and improve skin tone and firmness. Multiple sessions (5-6) are recommended and can be performed every 2-3 days for longer-lasting results.

How Quickly Will I See Results?

The initial effects of the Cryo Tightening and Cryo Beauty treatments can be seen within the first week; however, results from our Cryo Slimming sessions may take up to three weeks to appear as your body undergoes complete lymphatic drainage. The greatest benefits of the treatment can be expected 10 to 20 weeks after the start of the sessions and its effects will last for several months afterward.

How Long Do the Results Last?

Depending on the individual’s lifestyle and diet, the results of the Cryo Slimming fat removal treatments can last several months or several years. An ongoing monthly maintenance schedule for cellulite reduction, Cryo Tightening, and Cryo Beauty results is recommended.

What is the Difference Between Cryo TShock and Other Body Contouring Treatments?

The Cryo TShock utilizes thermal shock/sculpting, a unique and innovative approach to non or minimally invasive fat reduction. Unlike other treatments which rely on damaging fat cells through heat, ultrasound, or chemical injections, this method targets fat cells by inducing apoptosis without altering other tissue nearby or within the fat layer. This results in a gentle, gradual reduction of fat without creating any potential technical challenges. Additionally, the efficacy of this treatment is far more predictable compared to other techniques. Whereas Cool-Sculpting uses suction and Cryolipolysis which can accidentally damage beneficial cells, the thermal shock effect used in Cryo TShock is specifically designed to avoid this risk, ensuring that the procedure is safe, effective, and more personalized using a wand-like device versus static, stationary pads.

Researchers are now finding that contrast therapy — or thermal shock, which employs both quick cycles of heat and cold — may be more effective for one’s health and physical appearance, especially in the case of fat loss.
